In the last few months, consumers have steadily developed new behaviours due to the far-reaching impact of COVID-19. With no prior preparation for the pandemic, brands have now begun to relook their strategies while focussing on makeshift plans as a reactionary measure.

Customers now demand unique and compelling experiences in light of current realities. They expect that brands know who they are, where they are, what they need, what they like, what they can afford, etc.

Only recently, Google announced its plan to phase out support for third-party cookies –another huge blow to brands in their desire to deliver compelling customer experience.

Despite the many challenges, customer experience remains an integral part of marketing, especially when thinking long term. Hence the ability to deliver unique and compelling customer experience will differentiate leaders from laggards in the next normal.

As The Cookies Crumble: The Customer Truly Becomes King /as-the-cookies-crumble-the-customer-truly-becomes-king/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=as-the-cookies-crumble-the-customer-truly-becomes-king Wed, 11 Nov 2020 06:30:20 +0000 /?p=3715

From another angle, Google’s plan to phase-out support for third-party cookies means that the consumer regains his place as the one true and powerful king in the kingdom of marketing.

Rather than sneak your way to the heart of this king through third-party cookies, insights will become the only way to understand the consumer.

It is clear now that the relationship between brands and consumers is moving from being cookie-based to identity-driven.

This means that the only way to win in this new normal will be clearly identifying and understanding your customers. One way to do that is research and consequently, insight generation.

This webinar was organized to expose brands and marketers on the power of real-time insights in building lasting customer relationship. Furthermore, the webinar focused on leveraging technology for insight generation.

Recently Google announced its plan to phase out support for third party cookies for privacy reasons.

What this simply means is that advertisers’ ability to “follow” customers around the web, understand their behaviours and preferences and then serve targeted ads is under huge threat.

With Safari and Firefox having already blocked third-party cookies, advertisers and publishers need to come up with a powerful strategy that will help them navigate a cookie-less world.

In this session which featured top media, digital marketing and technology experts, we discussed the concerns of advertisers, publishers and users, and exposed attendees on how to stay winning in a world without third-party cookies.

Staying Connected to your Customers During COVID-19 /staying-connected-to-your-customers-during-covid-19/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=staying-connected-to-your-customers-during-covid-19 Wed, 22 Apr 2020 12:30:35 +0000 /?p=2935

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has plunged the world into a season of uncertainty. As the pandemic continues to expand, we see the growing impact on the global economy. On the macro level, there have been significant impacts of the pandemic on financial markets and industries such as manufacturing, tourism, hospitality, and travel.

In Africa, the UNDP warns that the pandemic could cause up to $220 billion loss and nearly half of the jobs in Africa lost. Analysts say Nigeria’s economy could be headed for a recession by the end of this year following the massive decline in crude oil prices caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has already taken a hit as a result of the virus, having lost ₦2.3 trillion in three weeks after Nigeria’s first case.

From a marketer’s view, restrictions on movement have forced consumers to drastically change their consumption habits, and in turn, have forced digital transformation for the businesses serving those customers. From supply chains to the way that brands message, tot he places where they connect, there hasn’t been a more critical time to intimately understand your customers with precision, than the present.

This webinar was organised to expose business leaders to winning ways to stay connected with their customers during this pandemic as well as strategies to generate revenue for their brands.
